Frequently
Asked Questions
Q.
How would Freelance Logic fit into our project?
A.
Freelance Logic, Inc. specializes in supplying small to medium
size digital subsystems requiring skilled programmable logic, software,
and circuit design. We focus on serving customers that invest high-technology
development expertise in-house, but require sound, practical electrical
and software engineering as needed.
Q.
What are the types of things your customers normally ask for?

In addition to custom form and fit requirements, we
often find ourselves delivering these features to our clients:

and control front ends.

Q.
When is the best time to call?
A.
Freelance Logic, Inc. focuses on delivering for prototype,
product, and product revision cycles. We prefer to engage at the preliminary
design phase and work projects on a fixed price basis. Please use
the contact page and a representative will get back to you with details.
Q.
How do you quote fixed price work?
A.
We provide a concise proposal with detailed schedule and cost along
with a short presentation outlining our plan to satisfy your requirements.
Typically, we charge a small fee for this proposal. Our costs and
schedule are accurate, and our customers find this invaluable in
the planning phase.
Q.
What is your typical duration for a project?
A.
We prefer to accept projects with cycle duration in the 5 to 9 months
range.
Q.
Your website says your located far away from me, how can you support
my project?
A.
Although we've found that a majority of design work
can be performed at our offices in the Northern California, we feel
there are times where it is important to work shoulder to shoulder
with our clients. We normally plan visits to our customer's sites
early in the project (the first month or so), and will always embed
ourselves at the customer's integration site to ensure project success.
We are happy the internet has made the world a smaller place, and
are always available to suggest and/or use any VPN and remote access
technology if required.
Q.
What can you do for us before the preliminary design phase?
A.
We are happy to assist with generating functional requirement definitions
and proof of concepts on an hourly basis.
Q.
I've already started working on the electronics, the deadline is approaching
fast and I need help!
A.
If we are available, we'd be happy to assist with your
short term, mid-project manpower needs on an hourly basis.
Q.
Can you change a resistor on the schematic you delivered 15 months ago?
A. Absolutely. Just call.
